I don't know if it's officially allowed in the 1001 things rules... but I have to make some revisions. I still need to make the revision related to moving from our old neighborhood. Also, sadly, Mae passed away since I began the list, so going to visit her has changed meaning and so it won't be on my revised list.
Liz's new 1001 list has given me some inspiration to revisit my 1001 and keep up with the updates... even though it was never my intention to post weekly or anything, it's true that if I don't write I'll start losing track of stuff!!

list lag
We've continued to be very busy, but with not very many listy things. Really the only one I can count of late is visiting Great River Bluffs state park with Julia and Sam on our way back from Madison last month. But we did visit two other awesome parks in August, they just don't count because they're not in MN/WI (Makoshika State Park in montana and Glacier natl park). Awesome trip, great hiking, bad weather. Makes me dreamy for a beach vacation, since some warmer temperatures happened here in MN while we were done.

whew
It's been a busy few months here! I've really only gotten two things done on my list: starting a garden, and visiting one of the ten parks on my list. The garden is doing well, especially with the rain this week. We had our first cherry tomato this week!! YUM!
Still mulling over how to replace the two goals I discussed in my last post. In the meantime, I've begun a mini-goals project to keep a journal kind of thing documenting all the fun summery stuff we've been doing. Plus, then I get to actually use one of the pretty books Sam made for me!

oh boy
things have been pretty crazy for the past bit. sam and I decided to forego trying to buy a house for now (next year at least), so we've decided to rent a house for now, and we're moving at the end of may. This is changing at least one item on my list, since there's not much point for me to join the lyndale walkers. I am thinking about how I will replace that goal, but suffice to say it will be related to my new neighborhood. Longfellow is has a great neighborhood organization (and one of my friends from the farm and HHH, Kim, works there) so that won't be difficult.
Also, I did not meet my 25 goals by the end of april, but that's okay. So I'm thinking about whether I want to redefine that goal, or make a new one entirely.
Off to pack!

teeth
So I haven't had a lot of action on my list recently, but I did get a big one crossed off- I got my wisdom teeth out. Unfortunately, this means not good things for accomplishing other things on my list! Also, Sam and I are moving at the end of next month, so that doesn't look good for the list either... good thing it's an almost 3 year list. I've decided if I don't make the 25 goals by the end of April goal, I will make a new goal in its place!!

ongoings
part of the idea behind some of the items on my list is to try new things to see whether I like them, and then maybe I'll do them some more! last weekend we went to see the mn rollergirls, and it was awesome! we had a little trouble figuring out how a roller derby works until half time when we could finally go find a program. made me want to put on some ruffle butt shorts and fight!
this weekend we went to see le circque rouge, a cabaret and burlesque show at the 331 (yay free!). I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of singing (almost all the numbers) and they were good too! and the house band was really fun. I was slightly nervous/dubious but it was just the right amount of satiny shimmying without being too in your face.
on a more professional note, I went to my first HHH alumni event this past week (also my first time back since I graduated) and I was so glad I went with Jenn because it was anxiety-inducing! I loved being able to finally eat the fancy hors d'oeuvres (realizing this is the first time I've typed that word) and wine but the mingling was a little scary! good to branch out though. and the documentary Fritz was pretty great and inspiring.
So I'm not even close to meeting the 25 goals goal... we'll see.

almost a week down
well, the first week with my 101 has been exciting but not entirely fruitful- but I have been getting pumped up for all the fun goals, planning how/when to do them, and talking to people about the list.
Last weekend Sam and I went to the Walker and saw a really great performance/installation by Ray Lee... the best way to describe it is robot aliens performing a musical/dance number. That was pretty great to experience together.
Preparing for more list-crossing off this weekend!!

list done!
so it look me longer than I thought to even finish the list! I'm really excited though. That's why I've decided to try to meet 25 of these goals by the end of april... I figure that could happen since many of these goals are so much fun, and many are very doable in a short amount of time. yay, wish me luck!!!

101 in 1001
So the idea here is to complete 101 goals in 1001 days. I'm starting tomorrow (2/21/09) so the end date of my mission is 11/19/2011. The listy thing on the side describes all my list items, and here I'll describe my progress.
