hooo boy not doing too well on this list. Last time I wrote I said I didn't care about many of these goals anymore, and that feeling has only increased since then. I feel really good about some of the goals I've accomplished - visiting Scotland/England over the summer, which meets my Europe goal, and I really didn't think that would happen, and making potato salad with my Grammy - I was thinking we'd never get around to that either. I'm noticing I seem to be making the most list-headway with my food and physical goals - though I will say I no longer have the workout time or desire to do any real swimming stuff. Taking up not one but two new sports (roller derby and weightlifting) since I started the list will do that. I've lost about 10 lbs since I started skating last february (and it's quite humorous now that one of my old list items is "attend a roller derby") and have been able to get a consistent workout routine going.
I have less than a year left, and I'm seeing that some goals are totally unattainable and probably belong in the life goals category - especially the film and book lists - those probably deserve lists of their own!

listy action
so it's been a few months since I've visited this bugger, and who would have guessed (me!) that my priorities would shift quite a bit in 1001 days. I think there are too many goals on this list that I've changed my mind about (how could I possibly afford or have vacation time for all those trips?) or are just not realistic in this time frame (uhh, hello, buying a house?), but I've decided not to change them and see how my list turns out. I don't think I'm as die-hard about accomplishing everything on this list, either (hello, Liz!), which is OK by me. After all, part of setting goals is allowing yourself to not meet them all. What would the fun be in that if I had nothing to put on my next list?? gotta do a major update on this though, or I'll forget when I did stuff.

well my latest 101 things conquest is trying cross country skiing. Sam and I took a lesson last weekend at elm creek park. Most of the other people in the class had done it before (cheaters in the beginner class if you ask me!) and I had never done it before, but it was just fine. The instructor had us do some runs on a flat lesson area and we did some drills, then did a trail. After the lesson we had some food then went out on our own on another trail. It was so much fun and exceeded my expectations workout-wise. I thought it might be difficult to keep up, but that wasn't really the case for me, but we were pretty wiped and very sweaty at the end of the day. So wiped out and sweaty we did it again yesterday. We hit up the art shanties on medicine lake, then went xc skiing at french regional park. So I think we've found a good winter activity to get us out of the house... unlike downhill skiing, the conditions are more forgiving and it's more comfortable to do when it's really cold. Yay!

I promise I have made some progress!
Over Thanksgiving, Sam and I spent part of a day going to antique shops with my grampa. Back when I worked for him in high school, we would often spend entire days going from shop to shop, something he still often does with his old man buddies. Glad to reminisce and visit some of the places we used to go, and see some new ones!
I did go back to Las Vegas in 2009 with Sam's family, so technically this one is done. I still want to go with Kailie, but not positive it will happen before my 1001 days are over.
The random category had the most changes:
-accomplish 25 goals from this list by 4/31/09: obviously come and gone. Changed to go 1 week without spending any money (other than bills/rent/gas)
-visit Mae (my childhood nanny who now lives in a nursing home): in a previous post I noted she has passed away since I started the list. I would like to make a goal to honor her, and I am still struggling with that since other items on my list do that already. So for now this is still a placeholder.
-join the lyndale walkers (this is a neighborhood safety patrol basically): I don't live in the Lyndale neighborhood anymore. I know I sort of intended this would be adapted to have something to do with Longfellow. Instead, I changed this to a totally unrelated goal: see a prairie chicken lek, hoping to do this with Paul.
I also changed the go to taste of minnesota goal since I'm not sure I want to go anymore. Replaced with go to some other foodie event.
